TRAP NEUTER AND RELEASE

WHAT IS TRAP NEUTER AND RELEASE?

Trap Neuter Release (TNR) is the humane, non-lethal method of population control for outdoor cats and dogs that is more effective than the traditional method of trap and kill. The Team is fully trained by WSPA, ASPCA, and Fear Free Shelter, humanely trap Animals. The animals are brought to the clinic at the shelter for spay and neuter surgery and vaccinations.

HOW CAN YOU HELP US?

You can assist us by keeping a watchful eye on the overall health of the animal in your neighbourhood and reporting any concerns to us. You can also give us information on where to trap cats for our TNR program or bring in strays yourself to the shelter for TNR with the fee.

Our Stray animal team and TNR program are also helped with the establishment of animal cafés. For more information ask about our ANIMAL CAFE PROGRAM .

EDUCATION & AWARENESS

Our programs of awareness & education is designed for developing education programs to suit students of all ages and from all backgrounds. So far students of 3 years old from the international school right up to 19-year-old from several colleges have passed through our education programs. All programs are created to suit the particular needs of the school or college or volunteers, individuals, community residents or anyone who likes to know more about the (Animal welfare).

Compassupport aim is to promote compassion and fair treatment for animals within communities. To try and emphasize the importance of animal welfare we demonstrate that our pets are just like us and that all the necessities for our survival and well-being are necessary for animals too. We give the students an interactive slideshow presentation detailing all the things our pets need and encourage the students to suggest ideas.

Students are then given a short tour of the facilities where we explain the adoption process, visit our pet shop and, time permitting, meet our resident vet who explains the importance of medical care and shows the students the equipment used in the operating theatre.

For older students such as college students, we demonstrate the importance of animals in the world around us. We give many examples of how Animals can enrich our lives with the work that they are trained to do.

Of course, no trip to an animal welfare centre would be complete without the chance to meet some of the animals so we give the students the opportunity to visit them and socialize with them. The students and animals are supervised by our staff and volunteers at all times under (health & safety) programs.

If you feel your school or anyone would benefit from our education program either at our facility or in your school please contact us at programs@compassupport.top .

Relocation

RELOCATION

RELOCATION – EXPORTING PETS

If you are leaving and moving your pet to another country, it is always important to know what the requirements are concerning transportation, quarantine, and pet health at your destination. These rules vary from country to country. However, most countries require rabies vaccination and a health certificate that is usually prepared by your pet’s veterinarian or a certified governmental veterinarian. In most cases, your pet should also have a microchip. For some countries, you have to apply for an import permit, while others might impose quarantine on your animal.

For specific information, please contact the relevant ministry at your destination country or contact a relocation agency.

PET TRANSPORTATION

Airlines

Most airlines will transport your pet as cargo and some will allow you to have your animal with you on board. Unfortunately, if your pet is larger than a small dog, you are not allowed to take it with you in the cabin. You also have to remember that airlines that accept pets for transportation have specific regulations concerning their passage, regardless of whether these pets are accompanied or unaccompanied. It is highly advisable to enquire well in advance of departure as the number of pets permitted on each flight is strictly limited and pet approval is granted on a first-come-first-serve basis. Make sure that you ask about transportation charges and pet insurance. Costs vary from one airline to another; therefore, you have to contact your airline for full details.

If your pet is to travel in the cabin, take it with you when you check-in. If your pet travels as air freight, it must be delivered to the freight terminal in time to assure inclusion on your flight. Should your trip require a transfer between airlines, check pet regulations of the second airline in advance to be sure that pets are carried. There is no thorough checking of pets between airlines, so it will be your responsibility to make sure that connections are made at the transfer point.

Travel Box

With the exception of guide dogs, the pet will need to be contained in a travel box throughout the entire trip. It is important that your pet can stand, sit, turn around and lie down comfortably. Depending on whether your animal will travel in a passenger cabin or as airfreight the box requirements will vary. Keep in mind that there are strict specifications about travel box requirements that must meet International Air Transportation Association (IATA) standards. We sell IATA-approved transport boxes.

CAT CAFÉ

WHAT IS A CAT CAFÉ?

A Cat Café is a designated feeding area for stray cats. It attracts cats to a carefully selected location to aid in avoiding conflicts with people, roads, offices, hotels etc.

Cat Cafés are supported with a cat care and control program by THE WELL EQUIPPED TRAINED TEAM will trap, vaccinate, Desex and release healthy cats.

We have Cat Cafés placed in residential areas, schools, hotels, entertainment parks, and labour camps. These are a very important part of the work that we do with the help of our stray animal catching team to clear the streets and provide a safe and clean place where they can get the food and water they need to remain healthy animals and live out their days

Studies and experience have shown that simply removing cats will not solve problems an area might have with stray cats. As long as a source of food, water and shelter remain available, others will soon take the place of the cats removed. If instead, a stable colony of sterilized and medically attended cats is permitted to stay on the premises, this will prevent newcomers from moving in and also keep rodents, snakes, scorpions, etc, at bay. The Cat Café has proven successful in a number of countries worldwide. Pictured left is a Cat Café that is currently placed in a labour camp. You can see here a few curious felines eager to investigate the shelter!

HOW DOES IT WORK?

1. OUR TEAM will join efforts to catch all of the cats on the premises.

2. OUR VETS will desex, vaccinate and deworm the healthy cats and will euthanize those that are sick (cannot be treated) and badly injured such as (spine injury, broken jaws, etc.). A fully implemented plan means that the complete feral cat population in the selected area will have been neutered, vaccinated, and de-wormed, and their ongoing health will be monitored by the NURSES VETS AND THE ANIMAL CARERS as well as by those directly concerned.

3. An area away from other food sources must be provided and cats must be provided with food, purified water, and shelter only in this designated area. It is very important that cats are not fed in any other area and that bins are securely closed so that the cats become accustomed to going to the shelter for food.

4. The shelter is staffed by volunteer cat-loving individuals, employees, and guests, who are all welcome to interact with the cats if they wish. Regular feeding times should be established.
